I%26#39;m in bangkok next month and would like to buy some silk fabrics while i%26#39;m there

where are the best places to buy fabric and roughly how much would i expect to pay per meter of raw silk?

You want to go to Chinatown. There are hundreds of fabric shops, silk included. Raw silk prices depend on the quality and where it comes from in thailand. be also aware silk can come from china and indonesia. you can pay anywhere from a few hundred baht per meter to several thousand baht per meter.

any stores in particular that anyone can recommend?

i spent hours in kuala lumpur last year looking for the right places...surprisingly they were in little india...would love to be able to cut out lots of the hunting around.

I can%26#39;t recommend any shops in chinatown because silk is not something i shop for. However there are a couple of high end places that come recommended by some friends.
