Narai Hotel - So disappointing.

I would like to express my complete disappointment and disgust at the Narai Hotel on Silom Road. I arrived in Bangkok last Sunday night. My flight had ben delayed for two hours in Dubai, so it was ten o’clock when I finally got out of Suvarnabhumi airport.

I was flying out to Phuket early the next morning, so I didn’t really need any fancy accomodation. Just a room for the night. I decided to go to my old reliable, the Narai Hotel on Silom Road. It suited me to be somewhere familiar, and I’d stayed there on two occasions before.

I took a taxi there, and it being low season, I was confident enough to walk into the foyer with my suitcase; I had a good idea getting a room would be no problem.

I enquired as to the price of a single room for one night and was absolutely shocked when the guy behind he desk told me it would be 4000 baht for one night.

The reason I was shocked is that I stayed there only last October, and was paying 2100 per night. I explained this to the guy, but he was unrelenting. 4000 baht at ten o’ clock at night, for a room for one night.

I turned away and walked out to the sound of his sneering voice, saying “bye bye Meester”

I am totally disgusted because I actually recommended this hotel on this forum several others and indeed, gave it good reviews.

The Narai Hotel rooms are NOT worth 4000 baht per night. I should know.

I’ll never set foot in the place again.

sorry for your problem I would write the management and explain your position. and frustration.

but your post is a prime example of why i always book the first night after a long flight.

and in thailand it always seems to be cheaper to book on internet then walk up..

Last may i stayed at Asia hotel booked good rate on internet I was going to samuii then was going to stay again on the way home for a couple of nights I stopped at reception to reserve the room they would not give me the same rate wanted a 1000baht more for same type of room. I had to get the head manager to OK the rate.

I do book my accomodation in advance, but just this time, I decided to give some business to a place I%26#39;d stayed in before.

Its obvious that the Thais don%26#39;t understand nor appreciate return business.

Sorry with your experience.In last October you booked by yourself or with agency ,in case you booked with agency the room rate would lower that booked by yourself.Or maybe your case have something misunderstand.
