hi all,

we have two short weeks of vacation coming up this christmas with tickets already booked. we are flying into chiang mai and out of bangkok. we would like to be spontaneous in our travel within the country, however, we are concerned with the economics of that decision. basically we have to get down to the beaches for a few days and then back to bangkok.

wondering if it is cheaper to book all intercountry travel prior to arrival or is it possible to purchase air travel tickets on the same day of travel without incurring inflated prices?

Christmass is the high season you may have a hard time finding a decent hotel by just walking up. low end and back packer will be available but most everything else will be booked .same with flights.

at that time of the year and with only 2 weeks i would try and book flights and hotels now.

thanks to all respondents. i will go ahead and book all travel plans within the next couple weeks.
