i am searching for a quiet %26amp; secluded 4/5* seaview resort near local beach restaurants/bars/shacks in Khao Lak for March 08 and came accross the Takolaburi Cultural Spa Resort (Pakarang Cape) in Google.
No information available in TA/khaolak lovers/my khaolak.de
Has anyone heard about it? stayed at that resort? know anything about it? any reviews?
i would love further details as we are quite keen to investigate this resort further but very little info to hand.
Thanks a lot in advance.
PS: Any other suggestions aslo welcome .....
Takolaburi Cultural Spa Resort in Khao Lak?????
I think that this resort is one of a couple of new resorts which were being built on Cape Pakarang when we had a ride around there last April. Google search results in several agencies offering bookings there but none that I could see referring to when it opened or is opening. If this is the location it certainly is quiet and secluded but currebtly the Best Western Galleria was the only resort open there with just a couple of local restaurants. You would be a 15 minute taxi ride to main restaurant, bar, shops area.
The Sarojin and Le Meridien are just further up the coast around the Cape situated on the best stretch of beach IMHO in Khao Lak. Both are 5* with the 3* Similana in between them. There are a few very good beach restaurants nearby but otherwise again you are a 15 minute ride away into town.
The 4* Ramada, La Flora and Mukdara are nearer to town on the very nice Bang Niang Beach with more restaurants around and 10 minute ride into town.
The main beach is Nang Thong with most of the resorts and nearest to town.

Takolaburi Cultural Spa Resort in Khao Lak?????
Arandora,
Many thanks indeed and throughout the past months, i have learnt so much about Khao Lak thanks to especially you %26amp; Tedkarma.... i am quite confused though between various resorts and reviews. At the moment we are quite keen on the Paradise in Sunset Beach but would love to know if the hustle and bustle of Khao Lak would be too much ????...
Are there little local restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the Paradise resort ? Would it be busy (ie: noisy, packed) in March? How would you rate the Paradise from your experience (3/4/5*????)?
Thank you so much for helping me and clarifying those points...
Your help %26amp; knowledge are just so invaluable....
Sunset Beach is, of course just south of Bang La on, or the %26#39;centre%26#39; of Khao Lak, where the majority of restaurants, shops, banks etc are located. However, you will not find any part of Khao Lak %26#39;packed%26#39;! It%26#39;s appeal is that it%26#39;s very relaxed, laid back and relaxing. We were in the middle of the Songkran procession in April this year, and even then there was only limited hussle and bussle!
If you want a 5* seaview resort (on one of the best beaches) with local restaurants then the Sarojin will fit the bill. It is a short distance from the %26#39;centre%26#39; but they run a free shuttle bus every 2 hours or so. I cannot comment specifically on the Paradise, as I havn%26#39;t stayed there, but am sure a fellow TAer who has will be able to advise you.
