Bangkok to Sukhothai

Hi all,

We are planning our honeymoon in November this year in thailand. We shall be arriving in Bangkok on the 21st early morning. We%26#39;re planning to fly to Sukhothai on the 23rd in the afternoon so that we can see the Loi Krathong festival there. Afterwards we either continue west for trekking or up North to Chiang Mai.

Does this give us enough time in Bangkok do you think?

How much time do you think we should spend in Sukhothai? We were thinking about 3 days. Any recommendations for accomodation?

Also how do we get from Sukhothai airport to the new town?

Bangkok to Sukhothai

Would stay maybe two nights maximum in Sukhothai and one night in Tak. I have not yet stayed in Sukhothai , so I cannot recommend any accomodation there. In Tak you should stay at the Viang Tak Riverside Hotel and see the Loi Krathong festival too. Its amazing there. The hotel is situated near the Ping River. You have to book the hotels in advance, as all the hotels will be fully booked during this festival. Dinner at the hotels might be compulsory as well. Not only tourist come to see the festival. Also people from all over Thailand. The famous places are: Sukhothai, Tak and Chiang Mai.
