Has anyone hired a car in Krabi?

I going to November and am toying with the idea. Is it safe what are the roads like?

Any comments welcome?

Hi David,

We were there a month ago and hired a honda jazz for a day. Cost us 1400thb. They don%26#39;t really negotiate the price at all. Didn%26#39;t want to leave passport so left equivalent of 10,000thb in AUD. ($350)

We thought it was worthwhile. We went past Krabi town and to the hot springs and emerald pool. Very much enjoyed our day out, even though it did pour all afternoon.

Took photos of any damage to the car when it was delivered to us, just in case.

The fellow came back the next morning to collect it, as arranged, and after a very quick inspection we got our deposit back.

The roads were excellent to drive on. My husband drove and I navigated. Only missed the turn back to Ao Nang, so didn%26#39;t do too bad. The local maps are fine to get your way around.
