Thanks for the resturant tips and general costs etc, but is it really safe to eat from street vendors etc, i have been to Thailand before (Pattaya) %26amp; was always warned about eating from the vendors! does this apply to vendors in Ao Nang?
Eating in Ao Nang
of course...where%26#39;s the running water to wash utensils...how hot is the water. basic food hygene in the west requires plates and utensils washed in clean water at hot temperatures..you never handle money and prepare food with the same hand etc etc etc.....bugs everywhere mate...
Eating in Ao Nang
Hi
IMO street vendors are much safer than western style restuarants and any hotel buffet. buffets are the worst place to eat. for safety
the street vendors cook your food only after you order, you watch them cook it and can see where it comes from
can%26#39;t say the same for restuarants. who knows what goes on in the kitchen.
I have worked in the restuarant bussiness I can tell you horror storys about 5 star resturants all the way down to local cafes.
the reason asian%26#39;s use lots of hot spices is to kill the bacteria.
you are missing out on great safe food

there are not very many street vendors in Ao Nang. most eating places are restaurants of varying degrees of quality and standards.
