Peace Laguna v Cliff Ao Nang

Having read all the reviews, I still can%26#39;t decide between the Peace Laguna and Cliff Ao Nang. I love the look of the Cliff and love small boutique hotels, but the only thing putting me off is location as seems further out than Peace and also not sure about privacy with outdoor bathrooms, so is Peace a better option for these reasons? Any advice from anyone who has been to Ao Nang?

We stayed at the Peace Laguna last March and thought it needed a huge overhaul. It%26#39;s about 1/3 mile from the beach and is in a pretty setting, but the grounds need cleaning up. We were not impressed with the rooms!!

I live just down the road from The Cliff. It is lovely :-)

How far is it from the shops/beach road - I can see it is about 15 mins walk to beach itself, but do the shops/restaurants start before that or is it 15 mins to all action? I think I%26#39;m just about decided on this hotel, but just want to be sure. Also, as you are local thought you would know answer to this question - are their sunbeds you can hire on Ao Nang beach and also the other beaches we can go by long-tail or are they not allowed as seen some mention o f this. Tks very much for help.

Shops and restaurants starts outside the hotel, so it is not like you have to walk in dessert 15 min to get to the beach:) You walk down the main roud. And if you are very tired you can take tok-tok. I would realy recomend The Cliff ao nag. I love it:)
