Best Over the Top Resort

Please help me plan a one of a kind resort experience? Amanpuri, Banyan Tree, Trisara, or something else? My wife and I usually stay at Four Season resorts but think we would prefer Phuket compared to Koh Samui.

Banyan Tree !!! Not stayed at the others mentioned but the double pool villa in the Banyan Tree did it for us :)

Have you considered the Marriott? It is truely a beautiful resort and the service is excellent. The only downside is proximity to town. If this is not a priority then you should look into it. There is a hotel side and a timeshare side. Both are quite luxurious. The timeshare includes a full kitchen and washer/dryer.

We also like FS and we prefer Phuket to Koh Samui.

Last time we were in Phuket we looked at lots of resorts. I personally don%26#39;t like the Laguna area. It is too sterile. Also the Banyan Tree is almost compound like. Granted they have spectacular rooms but it could be anywhere in the world. And you don%26#39;t actually get sea views.

The Amanpuri is on a beatiful beach but some reveiws are suggesting it is a bit dated, We have not seem Trisara or Phuket Pavillions. We really like the look of Mom Tris Villa Royale - unfortunately we could not get in there.

I don%26#39;t think the Marriot is what you are after if you are looking for a unique 5 star experience - it is chain.

How long are you going for? Perhaps you could try a couple of resorts.

We absolutely loved the Racha we had a pool villa.

I have looked through all the hotels, just out of curiosity, and I agree, if I could pick any it would be Mom Tris... it looks fantastic!

Have you looked at Twin Palms in Surin? We loved it and it was 5 star plus - check out the hotel reviews - I posted photos too.

EvanR, Mom Tri%26#39;s Villa Royale is superb. It is also nicely located if you want to go out of the resort to do some shopping etc. They also provide shuttle transport to and from their sister hotel The Boathouse in Kata.

Hi mom tri%26#39;s i stayed last year and you can not beat it for beaches scenery ,views . fine dining restaurants here and in the vicinity . The place is just wonderfull and every suite is different.

Hi, our first time in Phuket we stayed at the Holiday Inn Busakorn wing and loved it. Only down side was you could be any where in the world as there were no beach views just a lovely pool. We would like to stay there again as it really was great but wouldnt mind another option for a few days.

We are headed back next year and we are also wondering where to stay on a beautiful beach with seaviews.

Can someone tell me if Mom Tri Villa Royale is on Kata beach?

Last year we had a look at the Kata Thani for a possible return visit, does anyone have an opinion on it? Hubby and I like to be within walking distance to some good restaurants.
