We are thinking of going to Bankgok for 3 nights next July and are wondering if it is possible to hire a driver for the day as would we like to go to the floating markets and also the River Kwai. Has anyone done this if so any advice will be gratly received?
Hiring a Driver
Yes, i have done this. Rather than hiring a guide, we hired a driver as I had been there before and others in the group had not. Obviously if you hire a guide you get far more commentary and information as a driver is usually just that. Time wise it is certainly do-able, but is a very big day. Your agenda has to be fairly tight. Explain to the driver where ';you'; want to go, not the places he thinks you should go. If going to the Tiger Temple, you need to allow at least 2 more hours to get there and see them. If looking for a driver ,you can ask your concierge or negotiate with drivers in the street and use your best judgement as to who you go with. Not diffocult to find someone.
