Travel from Krabi to Ko Lanta

Hi

I was wondering whether anyone knew whether you could get a private taxi to take you to Ko Lanta? We are arriving at Krabi airport at 12:00 and think we might be pushing it a bit fine to get the ferry over. I had read somewhere that (at a cost I know) you could charter a taxi to get you across but I can%26#39;t find out anymore about this. Has anyone had any experience of this?

Also has anyone stayed at the Ancient Realm Resort on Khlong Dao? It looks nice from the internet, but photos can be deceiving?

Travel from Krabi to Ko Lanta

There is a taxi counter inside the arrival hall at the airport. Last high season the fixed price was ca 2500 THB incl 2 car ferries to Koh Lanta (per car, not per person). From my experience, the hotels usually charge about the same price to pick you up.

We had a look inside the new Ancient Resort, but have not stayed there. The bungalow was a bit small and simple, but the bamboo style was quite nice. The area is quiet, and the hotel is only a step from the beach. We didn`t eat at the restaurant, so I don`t know anything about the food or service.

However, there are plenty of restaurants along the beach. Close by there are cooking classes at Time For Lime, and also a good and very popular beach restaurant. I don`t remember the name.

BTW: The bathrooms at Ancient are outside in open air.
