airport to Ko lanta tranport

Hello,

I want to get from Krabi airport to Ko Lanta, I know I can book the transfer through my hotel. I have also read that there is a co-operative of minibus drivers that do this. (cheaper than hotel) My question is: Where is the terminal for these minibuses? Do they run regularly during November?

TIA

You cannot catch a bus all the way. From the airport you will be able to arrange a car service to the ferry terminal and a ticket for the ferry.

Or, alternatively, take a taxi from the airport into Krabi town from where you can ride all the way to Lanta by minibus. There have been various discussions on this topic in the past and, yes, it%26#39;s cheaper than asking the hotel to send your own minibus to the airport to meet you . At about 250bt. each , it%26#39;s also similar to the ferry price.

The minibuses [blue and white] leave from outside the Thai Military Bank in Krabi town maybe at 1 hour/90min intervals during the daytime. If you know where you are staying in Lanta [ and it%26#39;s reasonably accessible down the main road from Ban Saladan], they are quite happy to take you there . Indeed some hotels now appear to be using them to return clients back to the airport.

It%26#39;s a fast, efficient service and in my view more comfortable than the ferry which can get overcrowded at times making luggage transfers difficult.

If you are alone, you will certainly save some money going by a 250THB minibus. Even when you add the taxi price from the airport to Krabi town (how much?), the 2 car ferry tickets to Lanta (if they are not already included in the minibus rate), and perhaps a local taxi at koh Lanta if the minibus don`t drive you to your hotel, I guess the total cost is still much cheaper than a ca 2500 THB taxi/hotel car from the airport.

But I doubt it is worth the effort if you can share a hotel car or taxi with someone. Then you will also get straight to the hotel in a quick and comfortable way, with no stops or waiting. And that might also be worth a few hundred baht.
