car with driver recommendations?

hi all,

we are planning to stay in a private villa when we go to samui. as location is going to be remote, we want to book a van with driver for a couple of days. i%26#39;ve been searching for threads on this topic but couldn%26#39;t find any answers with driver%26#39;s contact and prices. can anyone please help?

1)there are going to be 6 of us and we really don%26#39;t want to drive on our own. if anyone has experience with a reliable driver at reasonable cost, please advise.

2) we would want to go to chaweng for a night or 2. would it be a problem for the driver to pick us up late in chaweng and back to bophut?

3) has anyone used the website www.samuiholidayhomes.com to book a villa? are they reliable? as it%26#39;s quite a bit of money in advance, if anyone had used them before, please share experience.

thanks everyone for time and sharing. any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Yammy

My friend Diow has a new clean air conditioned mini van which would be ideal for a group of your size. I used to teach him in the peninsula and hes a good reliable lad. he charges about 2500baht for 1 day with gasoline included. Call him direct yourself

thanks footballgolf! thanks a lot for your help! i will check on our budget and will contact your friend directly. it seems like samui cost of transportation is much higher than Hua Hin where we went last year. we hired drivers for 1500baht for the whole day but i guess the standard of living is very much different in different part of thailand.

anyways, thanks very much for your help.

yeh samui has its own economy and is expensive now due to the fact its a relatively small island which is booming. the businesses here have to pay higher rents and so things like shopping and eating out are more expensive than other parts of thailand, for people who live here as well as for the tourists

goodluck
