Hi,

I know that everything is cheap in Phuket but how about prescription glasses as I%26#39;m about to go out and buy a pair and I%26#39;m thinking that if I can get them in Phuket I%26#39;ll just wait till next month.

Any advise.

hi phil yes you can buy prescription glases as there are many optical shops they check your eyes no script required and they are verey good we use k t optics they are located in the street next to holliday inn 4 shops from the beach front prices are quater to half price compered to home prices if you go for top titanem frames coulour change about 150 to 200 aus dollors compared with 700 800 at home what i did is have 2 pairs made with top class frames and then whent and brought cheep 5 dollor sunies and had them change the glass to suite my eyes cost about 25 aus only diffrence are the cheap frames as the money is in the frames i would recomend just buy good solid cheap sunnies metal frames eg fake police raybands and go the cheaper option i use mine everey day and no problems my wife did the same on our last trip in june at that price you can buy spare frames just in case you brake them we are going back in oct and i will have 2 more pairs off sunnies made with ray band frames that way i can leave one pair in eacch car so yes wait till you get to patong it takes about three or four days to make them to suit your eyes as the lenses come from bangkok hope this helpes you see clearer kob rob

Don%26#39;t know about Phuket, but pairs are available in Bangkok for between 1800 and 3000 Baht (frame + lenses).

They%26#39;ll include the eyetest.

I usually come home with 3 or 4 pairs.
