How about the Marriott Hotel, between Beach Road and Pattaya 2nd Road.

marriott.com/hotels/鈥?/a>

The Marriott is right next door to a nice mall. Plenty of restaurants, small shops, Ripley%26#39;s ';Believe it or Not'; exhibit, movie theater and food court. McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, ice cream and Pizza places located here.

Easy transportation to other areas by cheap (10 baht ) baht buses. Yes, there are some bars on these two streets, your kids are too young to know anything and the bar employees won%26#39;t bother you either.

Good luck. (If the price is too high mention what your budget is for other recommendations.)

Agree with the Marriott.Great hotel can speak highly enough about it.

Hello

If you really must stay in Pattaya the two best resorts for comfort and facilities are:

The marriot as mentioned, for its central location alone

or the Dusit in North Pattaya.

Another nice smaller resort is the Amari quite close too to the shops.

The resort of Jomtein Beach about 2 miles to the south of Pattaya has a much nicer beach and is quieter.

To get the best of both worlds then you could stay at The Royal Cliff Beach Resort, situated between the two. It is a very nice hotel.

Regards.

What%26#39;s your budget?

the Dusit is very plush - on beach

Marriott is very central and plush - cross the road for the town beach

Amari same plush - cross the road for the town beach

Sheraton is a beauty but about 5 min out of the thick of it on a headland

Cliff is next door - a bit like the parson%26#39;s egg - some rooms are too old, but good in parts.

Rabbit Resort has a good clean beach - for Pattaya - gets good reviews

Cabbages and Condoms - my favourite - own beach, tropical gardens, good restaurant and wines - own pool with sea view - choice of hotel or modern bungalow accommodation - get the whole family in one bungalow.

Hard Rock Hotel? - good pool etc international standards - expensive food.

We stayed in the Thai Garden Resort three years ago. Safe for the family and slightly out of town so away from the sleeze.

Has a good pool with kids%26#39; section, a play ground and a child-friendly pub (early on, before the %26#39;couples%26#39; arrive).

see http://www.thaigarden.com for info.

Tip. Ask the taxi driver to take you to Tik beach. It is (or was) quieter and cleaner than the main beach.
