Cost of trip from Airport to Patong Merlin Hotel

Can someone please tell us the cost of the Trip in a car/taxi from The Airport to the Patong Merlin Hotel please. Either AUD or THB would be appreciated.

hi there my husband %26amp; i stayed at patong merlin just last July 24-29.Although all our airport transfers were arranged by our travel agent guess what, out of curiosity we did ask a local taxi stand right at the entrance of Patong merlin. They charge 600bhatt for one way to the airport.So I guess its the same way around. Estimated time 50minutes. Personally I find this very expensive (they overcharge to give allowance to haggling). For 50mins of travel I would pegg it at 250bhat. However the front desk staff at patong merlin are very helpfull, I suggest you call them to help u with your airport transfers. I%26#39;m sure they%26#39;ll find the best way for you to get you from airport w/out costing u a mint. Enjoy ur vacation.

oh I just read a message from dcrv. She wrote a detailed experience on her trip to phuket. She wrote that taxis (tuk tuks) charged her 800bhatt. I suggest you read her message. Again enjoy ur vacation %26amp; hope I was of help.

Any Tips for our stay???

I would pay no more than 500 baht. We hired a driver for the day that took us around all of Phuket for that much so i don%26#39;t see how a 50 min drive should be more.

Patong merlin do a really good evening buffet. Different food each night including sea food, western, BBQ all with live music and the bar next to where you eat called the sunset bar have happy hour 16:30 - 19:30 and if you drink there you get 10% off the buffet. When we was there just over a week ago the buffet cost 490 baht all you can eat including salad and deserts.

You will have a wicked time

that%26#39;s right. u get 10% discounts on food %26amp; 20% discounts on massages. Dinner buffets are great with live music every night. The hallways leading to your room will be a bit dim but surprisingly it opens up to a very nice room w/ balcony overlooking the pool. Make sure u get that side of the hotel. Anyway try going to the ff:

The Port - 5min walk frm merlin - live band every night

Irish Pub - 5-6min walk frm merlin- great food big servings

Sabay Sabay - 3 min walk ask for directions - authentic thai food

and very affordable

Bang La Road - 15min walk - For you nightlife that will surely keep

you awake till morning, very entertaining. get there

way before 10pm so u get beers at 50bhatt only.

Hi There,

Catch a metre taxi from the airport - go out of the terminal and turn right - it will cost you about 450THB which includes the airport fee. This is cheaper than taking a driver that approaches you as soon as you come out of customs.
