Phuket or Koh Samui

Was interested in getting some opinions on which would be better for a family holiday in February this year. My husband and I will be travelling with our two children aged 8 %26amp; 11 -a nice quality hotel, with good pool and beach are essential. I have visited Phuket before albeit some 6 years ago with a twin centre with Krabi - and had a great time, although I am not sure how much will have changed in this time. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

How did you get on with your visit. I am planning to visit either phuket or koh samui Easter 2008 with my two sons ages12 and 10. I%26#39;d really appreciate your opinion or any advice or tips

weve been to phuket twice, we first went 3 months after the tsunami, we took are 2 kids aged 10 %26amp; 15 the first time, we loved it, we stayed at karon beach and had a weekend on railey beach which was totally stunning, we have booked for easter 08 to stay at bophut koh samui. i can not comment on samui but i had no problems at all on phuket, or railey, we spent a couple of hours at ao nang and looked to book there next year but it just did not fit with are travel plans. i would recommend thailand all day long and having just come back from egypt I cannot understand why the whole world is not going

I would suggest Le Meridian Beach hotel Patong..Private beach..Huge swimming pools..Kids clubs..Great gym..having been to Samui this year I found it very lay back and not as ';touristy'; as Phuket..Samui I feel is targeted towards the Romantic couples/independant party go-er scene..Because you will be travelling with children I think you will have a broader selection of shopping and activities in Phuket..Overall phuket wins my vote as a family holiday destination..
