Getting in before check in time

Hi all,

We are arriving in Phuket at about 7.30am. And our check in time isnt til 2pm. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or where to go. I assume we could drop our luggage off at the hotel early (holiday inn). Then go about doing stuff? Any sugggestions greatly appreciated. Will be extremely tired after plane trip too!!:)

Hi Pip,

I would email the hotel and ask them if you can check in early or at least look after your baggage until check in. You never know, they may let you check in early.

I use Thai airways which gets me there at around 4.00 pm and it;s a direct flight. I hate it when the flight is too early or leaves late but generally, if you speak to your hotel (or email), you should come up with a cunning plan and get it in writing if you can.

Have a great holiday

Getting in before check in time

Hi Pip,

We may have been really lucky, and it may have something to do with us always travelling in the low season, but we have arrived

at hotels early many times and never had to wait for our room.

I am sure if your room is not ready they will look after your luggage

for you. There are lots of things for you to do around the Holiday Inn if

you have to wait.

Have a great time, the Holiday Inn is fantastic!!

Lindy.

the other alternative is to book the room for the night before and then u will know u can move straight in.

Hi Pip,

Do as the guru has said e-mail them, as you may find they will be able to do your rooms 1st, or even let you in early as once the rooms have been made up its no skin off there nose to let you in early.

You will find the holiday Inn staff very obliging so its worth a shot. If they can%26#39;t let you in they will let you leave your luggage and they will also let you use their facilities until your room is ready.

Cheers, Pete.

Try signing up to their loyalty program - it often helps with requests like that. alternatively offer to pay, say, 50% of room rate for guaranteed early check in. Most hotels are OK about that - although the sukhothai BKK once tried to charge me 3 nights for a 7am arrival and 6pm departure the following day!

We got there at 1000 am and were taken straight to our room which was great as we had had an all night flight too. Holiday Inn are really good - agree with the previous post that said to email them, if the room is empty it doesn%26#39;t make any difference to them. Just remember it is around a 45 minute drive from the airport so you probably wont get to the hotel until around 0900 (if not later), which bodes well for getting into your room early.

Two months to go!!
