Hi can anyone please tell me how to get from the marriott hotel Phuket to the sarojin in khao lak driving and is it an easy drive. Thanks

Hi Michjo,

It%26#39;s a pretty easy drive from the JW Marriott to the Sarojin in Khao Lak, though I don%26#39;t recommend driving at night - too many poorly lit ( or not lit at all) motorbikes.

The Marriott is almost at the northern end of Phuket island, so you just head from the hotel to the main road (it%26#39;s highway 402, but that%26#39;s really the only main road that far north on the island, so you can%26#39;t really miss it) . Turn left and head north and after only about 7 or 8 kilometres you will reach the Sarasin bridge, and leave Phuket for the mainland.

Khao Lak is mentioned on signposts all the way even from before you leave Phuket island, and you just follow the same main road north. From memory it%26#39;s about 85 kilometres to Khao Lak and the Sarojin. When you get to Khao Lak there is a sign post on the main road pointing to the Sarojin, which is only a couple of kms off the main road on the left (sea) side.

When you are in Khao Lak town be sure to stop for a delicious lunch at the Tsunami Restaurant, on the right hand side of the main road heading north, almost next door to the Tsunami museum - as well as serving nice seafood, they suffered hugely in the tsunami and really need your business.
