Romantic Place

Hi Ian,

What would be a balance hotel between, Romantic / Super Food / Choise of food outlets in the area / activities to do and a nice Beach area?

We are planning on a Honymoon for September Second Week,

Please advise on the rainy situation as well.

Thank You So Much,

Cheers,

Chanaka

Hi Chanaka

I%26#39;ll answer the other stuff in your PM here as well . .

It%26#39;s still the rainy season in September, so I guess it%26#39;s no too different from the rainy season in Sri Lanka. Some days with a lot of sunshine, localised tropical showers and if there is any very heavy rain %26amp; thunderstorms it%26#39;ll usually be at night. You will see the sun - but not all day every day.

Ramayana is a good hotel but not by the beach and not within walking distance of the beach. Plus only a couple of good restaurants within walking distance

Dewa - not open yet - but good location on the beach and within easy reach of plenty of other good hotel restuarants. Also within easy reach - 15 mins walk of Kai Bae where there a lot of small restaurants.

Bhumiyama - lots of cheap places to eat nearby as it%26#39;s on the main backpacker beach. So if you want a good hotel but enjoy eating in wooden restaurants and want somewhere where you can get cheap drinks and party a bit then it%26#39;s a good choice. Not much in the way of refined dining in the area though.

Activities - Snorkelling is very good but this is dependent on the weather. Have to see if ny trips are running when you get to KC. Elephant trekking, cooking class, jungle trekking - even in high season KC is more of destination for people looking for inactivity rather than activity.

You%26#39;ll find good food everywhere. But there isnt much in the way of romantic restaurants on KC. But places to consider: KB Resort Restaurant, Kai Bae get a table on the deck by the sea. Invito italian restaurant , White Sand beach, very good food, but as it%26#39;s next to lots of beer bars it isnt particularly romantic. Tantra at Nirvana, Bangbao - never been here but if the food is as good as the wooden restaurant building, built over the sea, and the location then it%26#39;d be an ideal place for a romantic meal. The Amari Emerald Cove Restaurants - if you want to splash out of a 5 star meal then try their Thai or Italian restaurants, they%26#39;ll pick you up for free from where ever you%26#39;re staying.

Finally, my favourite for a small quiet restaurant, Saffron On the Sea, Pearl beach - only have 5 tables and a small covered deck by the water where you can lounge in a hammock and wait for your food then eat sitting on the floor. Slow service - but everything is made from scratch, but I haven%26#39;t found a nicer small restaurant on KC.

If you want a romantic resort then look at paradise, spent 8 nights there and my girlfreinds birthday happen to fall on our 4th day,i asked the staff for flowers and a cake for lunch which was a surprise for her,the flowers were lovely and the kate was good to.the staff were very good and freindly, the bungalow was very nice and better than expected, the grounds and pool very lush and clean, all in all highly recormend it and we shall certainly go back there again.ps.good locall bar is the traveller, gino is the owner and he and his girlfreind are wonderfull,if you go there tell them hi from kate and martin.
