One Full Day Only to Shop

Hi hoping you guys can help... I%26#39;m in Bangkok next week for work and only have one full day off to shop.

Like most female tourists I want to buy as much ';replica'; stuff as possible ie handbags, jewellery etc and also some DVD%26#39;s.

I will be staying at Pathumwan Princess so would MBK be the best for the above or should I try else where??!! BTW, one night we will be going to the Suan Lum Night Bazaar.

One Full Day Only to Shop

Since you are staying at the Pathumwan Princess you are in a prime location for shopping at MBK, there is direct access from 2 levels of the hotel into MBK. The ground level of MBK has lots of fake bags, sunglasses, wallets etc (Vuitton, Burberry, dior etc etc), generally the better quality copies are hidden and its a case of asking for them. Many of the stores that sell luggage also have copy bags hidden inside suitcases or at the back of the store so always ask for what you want because it wont necessarily be on display. Lots of Dvds available on the level with all the phones. Basically you can get everything you are after at MBK with the luxury of airconditioning and you can drop your bags back to your room and go back for more! You can spend many, many hours in MBK and stll not see it all. There is also Pratunam etc, but since you only have 1 full day for shopping and because you are so close I would choose MBK (we end up buying most things here). You can also get many Thai handicrafts etc on the upper level (many of the floors are like markets within a mall).

Its also easy to get to Patpong, Suan Lum etc via the skytrain (entrance to station is via Tokyu department store in MBK). For Patpong you need to get off at Sala Daeng and its just a walk up the road, for Suan Lum you can either walk down to Lumphini or transfer to the subway which will take you directly to it at Lumphini station.

Awesome - thanks heaps. For Suan Lum we are actually spending 3 nights at Dusit Thani and have been ';allocated'; an evening to go shopping there but the rest of the trip is for work (Bangkok, Ko Samui %26amp; Phuket) and then I have a full day of my own on the return in Bangkok to actually shop so fingers crossed MBK has everything my heart desires!

when you are in Bangkok check the newspapers for midnight sales

some of the major malls have special sales late at night if you are lucky you might be able to shop all night long LOL
