Koh Kood / Kut ?

Can anyone shed some light on Koh Kut ?

I get the impression KK is slightly off the beaten track and perhaps more authentic than KC? Basically I am looking for a proper Thai experience, no need for farang food, music, newspapers etc just an unspoilt beach, the sound of the sea and decent accommodation.

Am I going to find this on Koh Kut? or is there a corner of Koh Chang that will serve the purpose?

Koh Kood should do the job or even Koh Mak, you can get away from people there quite easily if you avoid the main beach.

On Koh Chang you could try the east coast of the island - it fulfils some of your criteria, but the beaches aren%26#39;t anything to write home about - hence the lack of development.

Ian, thanks for your advice. Looking at the map yesterday, I couldn%26#39;t help noticing how close the islands are to Cambodia. Does anyone organise trips into Cambodia? Siem Reap looks like 250km away and maybe a tall order for a day trip?

Certainly a day trip to Siem Reap is a no no. You can get 2 night packages there from KC or KK, but that%26#39;s 2 days travel and one day seeing Siem Reap.
